In 2008 The World of Orthodontics offers many many options for Adults. Ceramic Braces, iBraces, traditional mini braces, and Invisalign are but a few of the choices.
A cross-bite or "scissor-bite" of the patient's upper left lateral incisor. Ideally, all the upper teeth should overlap all the lower teeth much like shingles on a roof. In this case the patient's upper left lateral incisor is behind and inside of the lower teeth.

Adults often have Gold Crowns or other prosthetic restorations which may make attaching metal Braces, Clear Braces, and even Invisible Braces difficult. Attachments often used with Invisalign Appliances may also be a challenge.
Ceramic or ClearBraces. The colored dots are used to orient the
bracket and are all removed after the Braces have been successfully attached to
the teeth. A metal bracket is also shown for comparison and all are attached with clear elastics.
Ceramic Clear Braces can be combined with white colored orthodontic wires.
Crooked, Tipped, or Tilted Molars often need to be Orthodontically Uprighted and Straightened with Braces before Dental Implants, Crowns, or Dental Bridgework can be done.
